Christmas in Kalkaska

Welcome to Christmas in Kalkaska!

 2016 Dates: December 1-3

Christmas in Kalkaska is a community-wide celebration welcoming the Holiday Season to our town. Outdoor and indoor activities for the entire family are offered on the first Friday and Saturday of each December (with new additions on Thursday).

We will begin the festivities with our Light Decorating Contest for both homes and businesses. Judging takes place on Thursday and includes a bus tour and hot cocoa and cookies stop.

The Friends of the Kalkaska Library's Cookie Sale is not to be missed! Happening during regular business hours on Thursday and Friday. If they get enough cookie donations, the Friends will even run it on Saturday.

Our Lighted Christmas Parade has grown from a handful of entries to over 50 in 2015! Santa clears his calendar for this weekend so he can join in the parade fun and meet all the wonderful children around the bonfire following the parade.

Saturday, we begin with a Pancake Breakfast to benefit our area's elders and then on to the Craft Show at Birch Street Elementary. This is the largest craft show in Kalkaska County with over 70 vendors filling 85+ booth spaces! Our motto is, "If you leave here empty-handed, you must have walked in broke."

Also happening on Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm is the annual Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas shopping experience at the Kalkaska Church of Christ. This program allows families to shop and then wrap presents at no expense to themselves for their children's Christmas.

We are pleased to welcome back the KPS Baseball Field Project Committee with their MURDER MYSTERY fundraiser. This one is just for adults.

The day is topped off with the Annual All-Ages Charity Concert and Lock-In. HOURS of great music for a great price and then, if you haven't had enough, stay for the lock-in! Games, more music, food, and lots of fun!
